    • Hello, Laura

Dr. Dean writes this about the Mag RBC test in her ReMag booklet:

Magnesium is a very safe supplement. Ask your doctor for a Magnesium RBC blood test
to see if you are retaining magnesium, especially if you are on drugs. It’s a more accurate
test than serum magnesium. You can order your own test without a doctor’s prescription
at Request A Test for only $49.00. Aim for an optimum level of 6.0-6.5mg/dL. The lab
range for our magnesium deficient population is 4.2-6.8mg/dL but of course the lower spectrum of that
range is based on a sick population. NOTE: Do not take or apply any magnesium for at least 12-24
hours before the test or it will be falsely elevated.

      • Thank you. My rbc was at level 5.3, but I see that I should aim for higher. I was also not aware that I shouldn’t apply magnesium before the testing. I appreciate the information.
