Summer temperatures and humidity can cause mold and mildew to flourish. Half of the USA will enter the mold-preferred range of 77 to 86 degrees, Fahrenheit. In about 40 states, relative humidity readings exceed can 60%, which is the upper limit for inhibiting mold, according to the EPA.
Is mold affecting your household? When I had my practice, I had patients who were sick from mold and they didn’t even realize it. The first clue to look for is when you feel wretched at home, but better at work. Or you feel healthier when you travel away from your home. The second clue is to look for water damage anywhere in your home.
If you’re still not sure, you can read my Completement Now module on mold and mildew. It will explain symptoms of mild and mildew exposure, where mold could be hiding, and how to deal with it if you find it.
